Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk chaired a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the Restoration of the De-occupied Territories.

Representatives of ministries, law enforcement agencies, government departments, regional military administrations, and others took part in the meeting.

Participants discussed the issue of debt for utilities consumed during the period of hostilities or temporary occupation.

“It is unfair for people to pay for electricity they have not used. Therefore, this issue needs to be resolved immediately,” the Vice Prime Minister emphasized.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Reintegration has developed a resolution that prohibits the collection of debts for housing and communal services from citizens incurred after February 24, 2022.  The prohibition pertains to areas where the russian federation is presently conducting military operations or has temporary control, as enumerated on the Ministry of Reintegration’s List.

Among other topics, they discussed the issue of mortgage payments for housing located in the TOT. In particular, possible ways to resolve it.

“People moved out of Mariupol, but they’re still obligated to pay mortgages to banks for their homes. This isn’t fair since they don’t live there anymore, and their homes may be destroyed,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.

After the meeting, the group developed potential solutions to the problems.
