Since the beginning of the year, nearly 5,000 Ukrainians have become winners of the “Grant for Your Own Business” program. To start and develop their businesses, they will receive UAH 1.2 billion in grants from the state. Since the beginning of the program, the state has invested 1.7 billion UAH to develop small businesses through micro-grants. The Government Portal states this.
In total, 307 Ukrainians were recognized as winners following the results of the latest, seventeenth wave of micro-grants. They will receive 72.6 million UAH to start or expand their businesses.
Of these, 53% are women and 47% are men. The majority of grantees are from Lviv, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, and Zhytomyr regions.
The most popular areas in which the winners of the seventeenth wave will work are:
– Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles;
– Processing Industry;
– Temporary housing and catering;
– Health care and social services.
As a reminder, Ukrainians can receive a micro-grant from 50,000 to 250,000 UAH under the “Grant for Your Own Business” program. The funds may be used to purchase or lease equipment, purchase raw materials, and lease premises.
Both an existing entrepreneur and a person with no experience in such activities can receive a micro-grant. The requirement for receiving funds is the creation of 1-2 jobs, depending on the sum of the grant.
Ukrainians who received microgrants in 2022 created approximately 8,000 new jobs.
