During the meeting led by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, the participants emphasized the need to discuss the financing of special sanatorium schools, which were established by the Kharkiv Regional Council and include preschool groups.
Representatives from the Ministry of Reintegration, Ministry of Finance, North-Eastern Office of the State Audit Service, Kharkiv Regional Audit Office, and others attended the meeting.
The participants discussed the issue of unpaid wages for employees of preschool groups in special and sanatorium schools in the Kharkiv region.
Children with special educational needs study in these institutions.
The problem occurred because the institutions lacked a clear source of funding to pay their employees’ salaries.
The Ministry of Finance has officially stated that funding for special and sanatorium schools with preschool groups can be provided from the regional budget if there is a corresponding program.
The Vice Prime Minister instructed the representatives of the Kharkiv RMA to resolve this issue promptly. This will ensure that employees of affected institutions receive their salaries as soon as possible.
“The regional budget has funds to make payments. Due to the negligence of officials, people have worked hard but have not received the money they have earned. This is unacceptable. It must be rectified immediately,” emphasized Iryna Vereshchuk.
