The Ministry of Reintegration is publishing stories of Ukrainian citizens who resist the enemy occupation in Crimea.

“Data” is a Crimean Tatar and a career military officer. Since 2017, he has been defending Ukraine against russian invaders with arms in hand, fighting for the liberation of his native Crimea.

Data was born in Crimea and lived there for 17 years before joining the military academy. In 2014, during the russian occupation of the peninsula, he was a first-year student at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy.

He started his military career at the Svitlodarsk bulge. He also took part in the liberation of Pivdenne village near Horlivka. In 2019, he was appointed as the commander of a battalion that defended the area near Maryinka.

In Popasna, Luhansk region, he and his battalion faced a full-scale invasion during the tenth month of his brigade’s regular combat rotation.
