Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized this during a panel discussion at the event ‘The Role of Local Government Diplomacy in International Cooperation’ in Lodz, Poland.

Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized in her opening remarks that Ukraine can learn from Poland’s implementation of local government reforms and progress toward full membership in the European Union and NATO.

The Vice Prime Minister thanked the audience for sharing Poland’s experience with Ukraine. This helped to understand what mistakes should be avoided on the path of reforms.

The official expressed respect for the Poles for electing women as mayors. This demonstrates the trust and confidence that the citizens of Łódź have in her leadership. An example is Anna Zdanowska, who has been re-elected mayor of Lodz three times.

Iryna Vereshchuk shared her experience as the mayor of Rava-Ruska, a Ukrainian border town, with the conference participants.

At the end of her speech, she requested ongoing support for Ukrainian communities and the continued exchange of experiences.

“Keep doing what you are doing. You will always feel our friendly and strong support. We are a reliable political and security partner. As long as we work together, we will not be defeated by russia. Together, we will win!” The Vice Prime Minister concluded.
