By current legislation, fuel reserves should not exceed 2,000 liters. However, in the event of an escalation of the situation, particularly in the frontline regions of Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts, some companies may require the use of generators continuously.

At a special meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, the proposal was put forth to consider increasing the limit on reserve fuel storage. In particular, the limit was suggested to be increased from 2,000 to 10,000 liters per facility.

The official instructed representatives of the responsible ministries to prepare proposals to address this issue without delay. She also suggested considering the possibility of forming additional fuel reserves in preparation for the new heating season.

“It is our responsibility to assist in resolving the issue of ensuring sufficient fuel for generators in the frontline areas to support residents,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
