This was discussed at a meeting on veterans’ policy chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
Please be advised that the Cabinet of Ministers adopted the amendments to Government Resolutions No. 214 of 28 March 2018 and No. 280 of 18 April 2018, which regulate certain issues of providing financial compensation for the purchase of housing. The relevant decision was adopted yesterday, 30 May.
This applies to war veterans from among IDPs who defended the territorial integrity of Ukraine and persons with disabilities of groups I-II from among participants in hostilities on the territory of other states. It also applies to the family members of the deceased (deceased) of such persons who are entitled to monetary compensation by Resolutions No. 214 and No. 280.
In particular, the legislation provides for a subvention from the state budget to local budgets to pay monetary compensation for the purchase of housing for eligible individuals.
It is the responsibility of the recipient of budgetary funds to purchase housing within one year unless the individual is serving in the Defence Forces, undergoing long-term rehabilitation, or is in captivity.
These changes will make sure public money is used well and that people in need of housing get help.
