Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. Iryna Vereshchuk spoke about the results of the work of humanitarian corridors following the results of March 15.
According to her words, there are 7 out of 9 agreed humanitarian corridors that worked. A total of 28,893 people from the blocked cities were rescued.
Donetsk region.
About 20,000 people were escaped from the corridor from Mariupol. More than 4,000 private cars left this city in the direction of Zaporizhia via Berdyansk, Mangush and other settlements, of which 570 have already arrived in Zaporizhia. Others stayed overnight in Berdyansk and other settlements. In both cities, those people who were evacuated are receiving all possible assistance.
«I would like to draw your attention to the fact that now the Russian mass media are attacking people who left the humanitarian corridor from Mariupol. Propagandists demand that from the people to tell on the camera how the Azov Regiment did not release civilians from the city. Instead of giving peace to the people of Mariupol, who survived the shelters without heat, water and food due to the constant fighting of the Russian Federation and air bombing, they are making another fake» – Iryna Vereshchuk pointed out.
Sumy region.
There are total of 8,533 people who were evacuated. In particular, 6,950 people from Sumy, 140 from Trostyanets, 113 from Lebedyn, 166 from Shostka and 1,084 from Konotop.
Kharkiv region.
There are 320 wards of the Oskilsky psychoneurological boarding school that were were evacuated.
The Minister noted that in the city of Berdyansk, despite the agreement, the humanitarian convoy with buses to evacuate people from Mariupol, in particular, citizens of Turkey and Greece, is still blocked.
At the same time, systematic violations of the regime of ceasefire by the occupying forces for the second time did not allow the evacuation of the villages of Bogdanovka, Novo Bogdanovka and Bobryk in Kyiv region.
Iryna Vereshchuk also spoke about the next terrorist actions of the occupiers against the civilian Ukrainian population. They are currently illegally detaining about 400 people from the Mariupol Regional Intensive Care Hospital.
«And another terrorist act of Russia against the Ukrainian people… Today the occupiers disrupted the relocation of the Regional Intensive Care Hospital in Mariupol, which is almost 400 people. They are being held hostage. I once again pray to the international community: look and hear what is happening in Mariupol. Russia is a terrorist state, and we demand to recognize it! And the international community must focus its efforts on the release of the hostages» – she said.
