The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk commented on the situation with refugees in Mariupol, surrounded by Russian troops, on 1 + 1 TV channel.

«Currently, the most difficult situation is on the left side of Mariupol – she said. – This part of the city is cut off from the rest and is not controlled by our troops. Residents can be evacuated only in the direction of unrecognized “DNR” and “LNR”, where they do not want to go».

She advised people to get to the villages of Nikolsky (meeting place school № 2) and Yuriyivsky on their own. These are the settlements where the permit was obtained.

«But we are not sure that this humanitarian corridor will be implemented – Iryna Vereshchuk said. – All this cannot be called anything but terrorism. Russia is forcing people to move towards the so-called “DNR”. There are filtration camps where the trustworthy and unreliable are detected. They do everything the way nazi Germany once did: they force people to undress, search, rummage through things, humiliate».

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Ukraine must constantly inform the world about such facts.

«Putin is a terrorist, and Russia is a state that finances terrorism. It has an international qualification and our allies and partners are well aware of the penalties for such crimes» – Iryna Vereshchuk said.
