Iryna Vereshchuk: “Those evacuated today from Mariupol and Zaporizhia region are being assisted with help”

The Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk announced the results of the humanitarian corridors on March, 29.

According to her, more than 1,600 people traveled to Zaporizhzhia on their own transport via the agreed humanitarian corridors today. 936 of them are from Mariupol. Another 729 residents are of the cities of Zaporizhzhia region: Berdyansk, Melitopol, Energodar, Pologi, Orikhov, Gulyaypole and Vasylivka. After registration at the centers for evacuees, all necessary assistance is provided.

“At the same time”-  the Deputy Prime Minister said” – in the city of Vasylivka, the occupiers are blocking columns of evacuation buses and trucks with humanitarian aid, which were sent to Berdyansk, Melitopol and Energodar this morning”.

Also, according to her, organized convoys of people on private transport traveling on the route to the city of Zaporozhye from Tokmak and Energodar were blocked.

“We are negotiating and demanding the occupiers to unblock the work on Vasylivka in the direction of Berdyansk” -Iryna Vereshchuk said. – Tomorrow we will focus all our efforts on ensuring the work of the humanitarian corridors that were agreed upon today: Mariupol, Berdyansk, Melitopol and Energodar”.

She also informed that during the talks in Istanbul, which took place today, the Ukrainian group conveyed a demand to the Russian side: to open humanitarian corridors to the largest cities of Ukraine: Mariupol, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and settlements of Kyiv region, that are hard to reach today.

“We will see and hear the results of these examinations later” – the official summed up. – And we work, unite, teaming up and bring victory closer with all our capabilities and methods. Glory to Ukraine!”.
