Report missing Ukrainians as a result of the earthquake in Turkey to the hotlines of the Ombudsman’s Office

The Ministry of Reintegration expresses its deepest condolences to the Government of Turkey and the Turkish people in connection with the earthquake tragedy.

Currently, the Commissioner for Missing Persons, Oleh Kotenko, is holding consultations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to assist Turkey in conducting search operations aimed at finding victims, both Ukrainians and locals.

Establishing the whereabouts of Ukrainian citizens who went missing as a result of natural disasters is the competence of the Commissioner in any country of the world. Therefore, the Ombudsman’s Office announces the collection of information about our compatriots who were and are in Turkey as of February 6-7, 2023.

Since yesterday, information continues to be received that communication with some Ukrainian citizens in Turkey has been lost. The Ombudsman calls on everyone who knows information about such citizens to provide it to the Office as soon as possible as this will help to establish the whereabouts of these people at this time.
