Residents of the Kherson region who are forced to evacuate their settlements due to the threat of flooding can find housing in safe areas of the country using the “Shelter” program.
Ads for shelter are placed directly by people who own housing. Therefore, every displaced person can find temporary free housing in any region of Ukraine for a few days or for a longer period.
Under the terms of the program, those who provided shelter will receive compensation from the state to pay for utilities.
To see offers of free housing, it is enough to register on the “Shelter” website and use the filter system to find a home, and after choosing the right option, contact the owner.
“Shelter” is a volunteer initiative launched by Ukrainian parliamentarian Galina Yanchenko on the first day of the full-scale invasion. Later, the program received government support.
According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Reintegration was designated as the responsible executor of the Shelter project. The agency keeps the relevant records and coordinates the compensation of expenses for sheltering the IDPs.
