The relatives of missing persons may, under particular circumstances, obtain an extract from the Uniform Register of Missing Persons free of charge.

You must apply to the Department of Informatization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to do this. In this case, no money will be charged to the applicant.

The Register operates normally and extracts are issued on a first-come, first-served basis within 30 calendar days of receipt of the application by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

An extract from the register entitles the family to the social guarantees provided by law. In particular, families of missing persons can apply for a disability survivor’s pension during the search for the missing person.

You must notify the State Bureau of Investigation if you are offered money to obtain a record from the registry or any other intermediary.
