Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk chaired a meeting of the Coordination Center for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons.
Representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Defense, the Pension Fund, regional military administrations, the Ukrainian Red Cross, other agencies and organizations, and members of parliament attended the meeting.
Among other things, the participants discussed implementing the “Shelter” project, which provides compensation to those who host internally displaced persons free of charge.
The Ukrainian Red Cross is funding this project. According to a representative of this organization, the payment of compensation to citizens for housing and municipal services for March-April should begin by July 20.
During the discussion of this issue, Iryna Vereshchuk was also instructed to work on simplification of the data verification procedure for the Ukrainian Red Cross Society. So that property owners who are now abroad can also provide housing for IDPs under this program.
Representatives of the regional state administration reported on the processing of appeals received by the Ministry of Reintegration hotlines regarding the payment of state aid to IDPs. Most of these issues have already been resolved.
