Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized this live on the Inter TV channel. She clarified that these are payments for living expenses, which amount to 2,000 UAH for adults and 3,000 UAH for people with disabilities and children.

According to the official, nearly 5 million IDPs are currently registered in Ukraine, of which 2.6 million are receiving payments. Last year, 57 billion UAH was spent on payments to this category. The projected amount for 2023 is 72 billion UAH. This is the largest item of the state budget after the financing of the security and defense sector, the Vice Prime Minister noted.

The resolution developed by the Ministry of Social Policy and adopted in July provides for payments to those who need this type of state support the most.

“For example, citizens who have left the country and permanently reside abroad or who returned home will not receive such payments. Except for those who have temporarily left the country for valid reasons: business trips, study, medical treatment, accompanying a patient, etc. The Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Finance will also verify the recipients. The assistance will be provided to those IDPs who need state support,” Iryna Vereshchuk summarized.
