The Verkhovna Rada appealed to the parliaments and governments of foreign countries, international organizations, and their parliamentary assemblies about the intention of the russian federation to hold illegal elections in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions of Ukraine.

 

According to the telegram channel of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the initiative (No. 9581) was supported by 287 deputies.

 

The parliamentarians called on the international community not to recognize the legitimacy of any “elections” in the temporarily occupied parts of Ukraine and to facilitate the prosecution of those involved in organizing illegal elections.

 

At the same time, the deputies consider it necessary to call on the international community not to recognize the legitimacy of any elected body of russia, elections to which will be held in the TOT of Ukraine. Also, to prevent the participation of delegations of such russian government agencies in the work of international organizations.

 

The document also calls for recognizing that russia’s illegal actions once again confirm the impossibility of holding peace talks until the occupation forces are completely withdrawn from the internationally recognized territory of Ukraine.

 

In turn, the parliamentarians ask the residents of the TOT of Ukraine not to participate in illegal elections, and international organizations not to send their observers there.
