Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk chaired a meeting of the Coordination Center for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons.

The representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Social Service, the Regional Military Administrations (RMAs), other agencies and organizations, as well as the Mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, attended the event.

Participants discussed establishing IDP councils in local authorities, among other issues. Such committees will contribute to realizing the regional policy on internally displaced persons. In particular, to help them adapt and integrate into the host communities.

Currently, IDP councils have been established at the regional military administrations of Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Zakarpattia, Volyn, and the Kyiv City Military Administration.

The Coordination Center also discussed the issue of housing allowance payments to IDPs. In particular, in August 5.9 billion UAH were allocated for costs.
