Government officials and representatives of civil society organizations discussed the strategy for restoring state authority and reintegrating the DOT population

Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tamila Tasheva, representatives of NGOs, and other stakeholders took part in the meeting. 

 

Participants discussed the main objectives of the strategy. These include, in particular, protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, ensuring national unity, and defining the basic legal framework for transitional justice.

 

They also stressed the importance of implementing a reintegration policy in the legal, social, humanitarian, and other fields in the de-occupied territories.

According to the head of the Ministry of Reintegration, Ukraine’s state policy should be based on prioritizing guarantees of human security and ensuring human rights and freedoms.

 

Participants discussed further steps to develop the strategy. The reintegration process is an important element of strengthening national unity, said Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
