Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk stated during a live broadcast on ‘Rada’ TV channel that the Coordination Headquarters for the Protection of Children’s Rights under Martial Law consistently addresses the issue of young Ukrainian citizens in this category.
The Government is currently focused on orphans and children who lack parental care and are in the TOT. According to Iryna Vereshchuk, around 4,000 children with status are either in the TOT or have been illegally taken to russia.
Last week, the government passed a resolution requiring local authorities to submit applications to the National Police to search for orphans and children without parents who have been forcibly displaced to the aggressor state’s territory or who remain in the TOT.

“These children are under state custody, so it is our responsibility to ensure their care. This includes monitoring their living conditions, nutrition, and overall care. It is important to note that guardians receive compensation for meeting these requirements. Therefore, our priority is to relocate these children to government-controlled territory. We must ensure their safety, provide for their needs, and give them comprehensive care,” the Vice Prime Minister summarized.
