The Congress of Regional and Local Authorities under the President of Ukraine discussed the Ministry of Reintegration’s current programs to support citizens affected by the war in Lviv.
A program exists to aid individuals evacuating from the TOT and dangerous frontline areas. This program provides one-time cash payments. Currently, 62,000 evacuees have received 145 million hryvnias in aid.
Resolution No. 261 outlines a program that compensates for utility costs incurred when IDPs are housed in state-owned, municipal, or private property.
Since the start of the full-scale war, this budget program has paid out UAH 558.5 million in compensation. The housing has been utilized by 1.9 million internally displaced persons. Currently, around 44 thousand IDPs have received temporary housing through this program.
The ‘Shelter’ program provides compensation to homeowners who have accommodated internally displaced persons (IDPs) free of charge. Compensation totaling 2.6 billion UAH has been paid, and 3.7 million IDPs have used the housing. Currently, ‘Shelter’ provides housing for approximately 250,000 IDPs.
The Bank cooperates with the German Government on social housing. Recently, agreements were signed for an additional allocation of about 42 million EUR for preferential mortgages and the construction of social housing.
At the Congress meeting, Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk thanked the heads of regional military administrations and all those who care about IDPs.
