Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk chaired a special meeting to discuss the interim results of supplying solid fuel to the population in the respective territories.
Representatives of local authorities and international organizations reported on their work. They discussed the pace of fuel supply to the population. They also discussed the transfer of cash support to individual communities for the purchase of fuel.
Kharkiv region
By the end of February, 89% of the total need for fuel wood was met, as 27,318 out of 30,619 vulnerable households were provided with fuel wood or funds to purchase it.
Kherson region
17,906 vulnerable households in 18 communities on the right bank of the Kherson region required assistance.
By the end of February, the assistance covered 20,870 households, which is 1,463 more than in mid-February of this year.
Sumy region
Sumy RMA identified 72,487 households in need of assistance. 45,559 households have received assistance so far, which is 1,872 more than the number provided as of mid-February this year.
Currently, work is underway to provide fuel wood to vulnerable populations in war-affected communities in Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts.
The Vice Prime Minister urged the responsible parties to expedite the provision of assistance and fulfill the task of meeting the population’s fuel needs completely.
