The meeting took place at the Cabinet of Ministers building. Dushan Vuyashanin, the head of the Central Investigation Agency, represented the Bureau.

The parties discussed improving the exchange of information between the Central Investigation Agency (CIA) and the National Information Bureau of Ukraine (NIB). To confirm the location of our captured defenders and illegally deported Ukrainians, including children, it is necessary to transfer data to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and subsequently return these individuals home.

The government has taken a significant step toward helping those illegally detained by the russian federation. The Coordination Center is now authorized to release civilians who have been held against their will. Moreover, the center will also assist in activities related to the return of civilians who have been deported from the aggressor state.

During the discussion, Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized, “We have to return all our people. Prisoners of war and civilians. We are stating that everything possible will be done to achieve this goal.”

The Bureau of the Central Investigation Agency representatives also mentioned a significant improvement in their cooperation with the National Information Bureau of Ukraine.

Remember that the NIB and CIA Bureau exchanged information based on the Geneva Conventions for the Protection of War Victims of August 12, 1949, and the Law of Ukraine ‘On Defense of Ukraine’.
