An art exhibition dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Crimean resistance to occupation was held in a Kyiv school in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The Ministry of Reintegration’s information campaign included this event, attended by schoolchildren who were forced to leave the peninsula due to its occupation.
Children presented their drawings of Crimean landscapes at the exhibition. The event invited a children’s sports ensemble and guests related to the history of the peninsula.
Sevila Karaeva, a representative of the Institute for the Development of the Crimean Tatar Language, shared her story of struggle during the occupation. She emphasized the importance of supporting people in the occupied territories today.
Crimean Tatar designer Lenia Ibrahimova presented the children with national costumes embroidered by herself. She explained the costumes’ symbolism in Crimean Tatar culture.
The event concluded with a presentation of traditional Crimean Tatar ornaments. These ornaments were used to decorate various household items and consisted of a rich system of symbols. They represent the oldest achievement of the Crimean Tatar culture.
