Teachers working in Ukrainian educational institutions in Poland need to have their teaching experience credited

During a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian public and educational organizations in Poland, Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk discussed problematic issues of educational services.

In September 2013, Ukraine and the Republic of Poland signed an Agreement on Social Security. The agreement stipulates that the time spent working as pedagogical research and teaching staff in Poland should be considered when calculating the length of teaching experience for the payment of seniority bonuses upon returning to Ukraine.

The Agreement does not consider the experience of teachers who were compelled to resign from Ukrainian schools when they went abroad but continue to teach Ukrainian children in Poland. It is crucial to recognize their seniority when they return to Ukraine.

To solve this problem, Ukrainian schools in Poland were offered to sign agreements with the State Lyceum “International Ukrainian School” (IUS).

To support our citizens abroad, I will personally assist in resolving this issue. The Vice Prime Minister mentioned a similar experience with the Ukrainian School in Geneva.
