The Ministry of Reintegration’s Working Group develops proposals for the draft State Policy Strategy on IDP housing rights

By the instructions of Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal and the order of Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, the Ministry of Reintegration is developing a State Policy Strategy for ensuring the housing rights of certain categories of IDPs. This strategy will cover the period up to 2014. 2027. 

The inaugural meeting of the working group tasked with developing proposals for the Strategy was held on Thursday, April 18. The event was chaired by Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Bruslyk.

The Ministry of Reintegration, Ukrfinzhytel, the State Youth Housing Agency, the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine, the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine, the NGO “Public Holding ‘Group of Influence’, the CF ‘Right to Protection’, and other international and domestic charitable foundations and organizations took part in the meeting.

At the event, the participants talked about the Strategy’s goals. They agreed on how to organize the project and what to do next.

The implementation of the Strategy is a top priority for us. It will streamline the provision of housing for IDPs and their integration into host communities. It will also facilitate the return from abroad of our citizens who left their homeland because of russian aggression,” said Oleksiy Bruslyk.
