This information was published on Monday, May 6, on the official website of the department.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted that during the so-called elections in March 2024, the russian federation violated numerous international documents.

A significant breach of international law was the unlawful organization of the electoral process in Ukraine, a sovereign nation temporarily occupied by russia.

The russian authorities have involved millions of Ukrainian citizens who are in the TOT or were forcibly transferred to the territory of the Russian Federation in the so-called expression of will. This was done deliberately, using threats and blackmail.

The actions of the russian federation demonstrate a continued lack of recognition of the country’s responsibility and a continued willingness to engage in armed aggression against Ukraine.

Ukraine says it has no legal grounds to recognize putin as the russian president. This is because of the International Criminal Court warrant for his arrest.

The statement calls on foreign states, international organizations, and the public to not recognize the results of the russian elections and not support vladimir putin.
