At a meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk on humanitarian aid in the Kharkiv region, the issue was raised.

Previous meetings have highlighted the necessity for additional fuel for the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration to guarantee the region’s vital functions, facilitate the evacuation of people from dangerous areas, and meet other humanitarian needs.

To address this matter, the regional authorities were directed to draft and transmit a letter to the Partnership for a Strong Ukraine Foundation, requesting assistance in establishing a fuel reserve to meet these needs. During the meeting, a representative of the RMA indicated that agreements had been reached, which would help improve the situation to some extent.

“I would like to express my gratitude to our international partners for their assistance. Given the specific needs of the Kharkiv region, we must respond promptly and effectively to meet those needs. We are working closely with our partners to ensure that these needs are met in full,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.

The Partnership for a Strong Ukraine Fund is a multi-year, multi-donor financial program coordinated by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. It is implemented in cooperation with the Government of Ukraine.

The Fund was officially launched in February 2022. The memorandum was signed with the participation of Iryna Vereshchuk, Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
