The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights organized a public presentation of the Concept with the support of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine. During the event, they discussed the main provisions of the Concept and ways of its implementation.
Anatoliy Stelmakh, Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, attended the event. He thanked the organizers and Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, for their work on the Concept.
The official thanked the Ministry of Reintegration and the Ombudsman’s Office for supporting and protecting people affected by the russian aggression.
In particular:
– prisoners of war
– people who have been forced to leave their homes
– Ukrainian citizens in other countries
– people who have been forced to leave Ukraine.
Anatoliy Stelmakh said that children, the elderly, and people with disabilities are especially vulnerable.
He said that all citizens need protection and support from the state. This requires a regulatory framework and institutional infrastructure.
“On behalf of Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk and the Ministry of Reintegration, I thank the Ombudsman and Council of Europe teams for developing the Concept. It is necessary and timely,” Anatoliy Stelmakh said.
