Support for broadcasters and development of indigenous languages

In order to ensure the information sovereignty of Ukraine and the development of indigenous languages, the Ministry of Reintegration takes measures determined by the Procedure for the use of funds provided in the state budget to ensure the information sovereignty of Ukraine, the development of languages of indigenous peoples living in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on March 10, 2021, No. 201.

In 2022, measures were taken to ensure access to information for citizens living in the temporarily occupied territories, adjacent regions, and de-occupied territories, and a total of 167 hours on television and 459 hours on radio, totaling UAH 14.7 million.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued Resolution No. 19 of January 6, 2023 No. 19 “On the Establishment of the National Commission for the Crimean Tatar Language” established the National Commission for the Crimean Tatar Language and approved the Regulation on the National Commission for the Crimean Tatar Language.

The draft resolution was developed by the Ministry of Reintegration in order to coordinate and harmonize the actions of central and local executive authorities on issues related to the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of the Crimean Tatar Language for 2022-2032, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 23, 2022, No. 224-p, pursuant to paragraph 4 of this order.
